One way to define Peace is that it usually begins with a strong need to change things, not only in our life, but also in the world. That need is often frustrated by not knowing how to achieve that change. Often the first lesson that we need to learn is to find INNER peace. The Dalai Lama said, "People must achieve inner peace before they can effectively work for a better world".
We can attain inner peace and mental mastery by properly training ourselves to soothe and replenish our spirit. First we need to make sure we are getting plenty of rest. Not only at night, but also during the day. In order to define Peace for ourselves we should try to find some time to unwind, relax or take a nap. If this is impossible then find at least 15 minutes in the day to meditate so that we can free ourselves of stress and worries, then, we will not only create inner peace within ourselves, but also the world, in a positive and spiritual way. The world is not a peaceful place and within every soul there is some form of tension and stress. It is therefore essential to create positive and peaceful thoughts to bring peace to our mind. Meditation is one of the best methods to bring about transformation and nurture the natural qualities within. It is quite possible to have inner peace and be concerned about the outer world.
Another way to define Peace for ourselves is by learning how to remain centered in the present moment, by living in the present moment you can find a lot more inner peace. Not only on days when things are going as planned, but also on days when things aren’t so easy. On these days our inner peace will be very useful to help us make good decisions and to get things done. To experience the current moment, we need think only of what is at hand. Thinking less about the past or future. Today is different from the past. Once we can remain centered in this moment, we stop fighting life and start learning our lessons!
Listen, we CAN control our thoughts. And by learning to control our thoughts we can attain a way to define Peace for ourselves and the ability for mental mastery. If our lives are full of stress, problems, and pain then our minds have been running the show for far too long. It is time to learn how to shut off the mind and find the deep well of peace inside! To connect with this abundant state of inner peace inside us we must let go of the mind. We can start by quieting our mind. By finding that place to sit quietly to free and empty our mind of thought, we can tap fully into the greatest source of Love, Joy, and Peace, which will bring us into a state of unlimited bliss, and raise the vibration of the world.
The path to define Peace for ourselves is not simple or short. Nobody can wake up one day and decide that we're going to just have inner peace from that point on. It takes time, so, be patient. Remember that this develops over time. Different things occur throughout the day. Keep everything simple. Try not to do everything at once. There's no rush to do anything. Let's take the time to experience and enjoy our journey, by taking it easy and remind ourselves that this is for our good and the good of our planet. The hardest thing to do is to keep things simple, but, the simplification of life is one of the steps to inner peace. Being persistent about simplification will create our inner and outer well-being. So lets be smart, stay calm and be careful with our inner peace.
We also need to stay content because contentment matters, when we're content everything else seems to fall into place. We shouldn't be focusing on the trouble in our life. Look for contentment in where we are, who we are and what we are doing. We need to make sure we are doing what we enjoy and being happy. Taking the time to do things that make us happy and satisfying our desires. Choosing carefully where we spend time, but at the same time being open to experience. Stay optimistic and avoid negative people. Limiting the time we spend with people that make us feel negative in any way we can define Peace within ourselves.
People are not always going to act the way we want or do the things we want, but let us not forget, that the way we treat others is a direct reflection of how we define Peace for ourselves . It is our duty to be accepting of other people. We are not to criticize, judge or blame. Let go of bias and expectation, take responsibility for our action and forgive others for their actions. A better world means being kind, courteous and loving, whether we think someone deserves it or not. By enjoying the spirit in others we can see the beauty in everyone and in everything.
