SPIRITUALITY - Crown Chakra

The 7th chakra is the Crown chakra, or Sahashrara in Sanskrit, it is located at the very top of the head. This major chakra becomes fully active between the ages of 43 to 49 years. The Crown Chakra is associated with the color violet or white.

This Chakra is linked to the pituitary gland, which secretes hormones which communicate with rest of the endocrine system and connects to the central nervous system via the hypothalamus. The thalamus plays a major role in the physical basis of consciousness. This Aura-center which encompasses the Crown of the Head, upper brain-mass and the ductless glands located within the brain is associated with "Macroprospectus" in Kaballah.. and 'Cosmic Consciousness' in western Mystical traditions.. this Chakra "houses" that portion of the Self which endures unchanged through time. While the Soul (centered in the Third Eye or Brown Chakra just below the Crown) evolves from Life to Life (or Phase to Phase in our development,) the Akashic "Light Body" can be viewed as one's "ETERNAL POTENTIAL" and "LASTING IDENTITY."

The seventh chakra is a tool that helps us communicate with our spiritual nature. This Chakra is associated with divine wisdom, our spirit, our Oneness with the Universe, our Unity with all that is, and Enlightenment, it is the symbol of purity and spirituality and is considered the chakra with the highest energy. The crown chakra is mainly associated with, communication to our spiritual nature. It is about our integration as a whole, all aspects of our life and our sense of living in the now.

Sahasrara, which means 1000 petaled lotus, is generally considered to be the chakra of pure consciousness, within which there is neither object nor subject. Identified by Yoga as the 'Crown' or "Thousand-Petaled Lotus" Chakra, It is pictured as a lotus with a thousand petals; meaning that there is no limit to how it interacts with the universe.

Here's how to heal this chakra and balance this energy:

Wear violet or white when trying to heal this energy center.

Focusing on your Crown Chakra at the top of your head. Imagine the chakra opening and see a bright light entering your body from your crown chakra. Feel how warm and blissful the entering energy feels. Imagine it moving in waves that washes in through your crown and lightens up your head at first, and then quickly as a water stream runs down to your entire body. You will notice a strong feeling of joy and bliss, or simply Happiness.

Now pause for a while, about 30 seconds, and the let a new light energy stream enter your crown chakra as a beam of light above you. Let it fill you head and fill it with such a blissful and pleasant feeling. let it move to the rest of your body and ones again fill it with bliss joy.

Do this about 3 or 4 times.

Picture a thousand petal lotus opening at the top of your head and the Love and Unity of the universe flowing into it and through it, filling you up and energizing you.

Here are some affirmations to say while your connecting to this energy:

I am open and receptive to all life, Love is eternal, Love makes me free, I am willing to go beyond my limitations to express and experience greater joy, I am always willing to take the next step in my life, I am divinely protected and guided, I am safe and all life loves and supports me now, Love surrounds me, protects and nourishes me, I go beyond limiting beliefs and accept myself totally, I acknowledge that the source of love is within me, I am willing to be responsible for the quality of love and joy I have in my life, The more love I give the more there is to receive, I am open to the goodness and abundance of the Universe.

Take a deep breath in, feeling the Love and abundance of the universe filling you up, as you exhale long and slow feel all the negative energy inside you melt away.
